Okay, “Enlightenment or bust” might be a bit dramatic, but…

"Dang Zang" is an empty name. The blog has to do with the dharma; material related to Buddhist teachings (Tibetan style in particular, Kagyu in even more particular), meditation, gurus and lamas be they genuine or flaky, books and events. I do have a more personal blog, Pica Pica, and a site for my work.

Oh yes, it's by Alex Wilding

  • Still reeling 01/12/2016
I have not blogged since the US election. Why not? Because I don’t understand. The media world is at present full of gurus trying to explain it. The best of them realise that they are groping  and, like the rest of us, are waiting for  wisdom to emerge. The ones who “know” the answer are probably […]
  • Free Tesco parking if you buy straight bananas 13/11/2016
Laura Leeks was reportedly refused free car parking at Tesco because the only thing she had gone into the shop for was baby formula. According to some jobsworth at Tesco’s, to allow her the free car parking would amount to a promotion of that product, which is not allowed. Before I get to the point, […]
  • Second tries and Brexit 09/11/2016
Yes, that topic again. I heard it again last night: “MPs voted six-to-one to give the decision to the British people.” NO THEY DIDN’T! MPs voted six-to-one (I’ll assume that figure is correct) to consult the British people. They did that. They had a referendum. An advisory one, as usual, not a binding referendum. We […]
  • Secret Brexit negotiations – not good enough, Teresa! 08/11/2016
Current government and pro-Brexit spin is making a very big deal out of the argument that the negotiations that are presumably going to take place at some stage are like a game of poker. They must not, therefore “show their hand in advance”, which is to say that they would like their policy-making to be […]

Who am I?

Thanks to Lorraine Vost for this picture from Lama Pema Dorje’s course last month:

Submit your guesses in comments! (Oh, I had to change the setting for comments so that I have to approve them before they appear, as I was getting anything from a handful to a score of spam comments every day, but I will of course approve anything that is even 1/4-way reasonable.) You might need to click-to-enlarge to get the necessary detail.

I asked the same question about a different picture on Pica Pica, but the intervening years and the number of people make that one much more of a challenge.

Aren’t you the guy with Vajrakilaya whispering in your right ear?

I’ll reveal the truth in a week!
    OK, yes, you are right.

  • Last row, 4th from right. (I cheated–I’ve seen pix of you before!)

And you’re right–the other pic is a LOT more of a challenge!

That’s right – but it wasn’t really hard, was it?
